Wellmoor is seeking to address some of the worst aspects of the current Cost of Living Crisis in our area, including setting up a Wellmoor Community Support Fund to give small grants of up to £100 to help local people in urgent financial need.
January can be one of the hardest months financially and and this fund can be a lifeline for people in our area really struggling to make ends meet. We want the fund to reach as many people as possible and that is why we will be holding further rounds of funding in the Spring of 2023. You can make your donation a one-off or give monthly, all donations both small or large will go towards supporting people in our community with the Cost of Living crisis.
Our first round of funding closes on Sunday 8th January 2023 and we are hoping to raise £2000 of funding from community donations which will directly into the Wellmoor Community Support Fund alongside money we have raised through Wellmoor activities, donations by local organisations and charitable grants.
In addition to the fund, our Friendly Friday's project has been providing a warm space for local people, bringing people together through good food and good conversation! As well as delicious food provided by Knead to Connect, Friendly Fridays is a one-stop shop sharing other sources of support and showcasing local organisations and services (we even had a guest appearance by a massage therapist). Sessions will be running every Friday until 16th December, then resuming in the new year until March 2023 - so come along! Donations from the food are all going to the Wellmoor Community Support Fund.
