Story
Founded in 2023 by Shannon Rich, Welsh Warriors white collar boxing was established to have a different focus on the individuals who volunteer to participate in this boxing event. Shannon decided that she wanted to actually make a difference to those who undertook the white-collar boxing challenge by not only coaching them physically - training them up for their fight but to be of aid with their mental health too by offering that support with weekly check-ins and personal touches provided during their training period.
Shannon has had the experience of participating in white-collar events and therefore had the insight into how to improve them and what could genuinely make a big difference. She saw that the training helped her physical ability and was determined to make her white-collar experience for her participants better by focusing on mental and physical health 50:50.
After losing her best friend who struggled with mental health, Shannon vouched to try her best to become a huge mental health advocate. She started spreading awareness on social media through TikTok which grew massively. She is also a trustee for her beloved best friend's mental health charity Bronwen's W;sh.
Welsh Warriors White Collar Boxing have decided to partner with Bronwen's W;sh for this reason and aims to make a huge difference. To learn more about Bronwen's W;sh, please visit: bronwenswish.org
