Why I’m Walking
This August 2026, I will be climbing Mount Kenya — not as an exhibition or personal challenge, but as a commitment to something far greater.
I am walking for girls at risk of being left behind.
Girls who want to learn, to grow, and to build a future — but who face barriers many of us never have to think about.
Through my work as a Trustee with WENDO, I have seen firsthand how the lack of school fees, basic supplies, or dignity support can force girls out of school. Something as simple as not having a school uniform or sanitary products can lead to shame, absenteeism, and eventually dropout.

A school uniform is not just clothing — it is a wrap of dignity. Without it, girls are often stigmatised, looked down upon, and made to feel less worthy than their peers.
This walk will support 250 girls at Kianjagi and Mutindwa Public Primary Schools, located at the foot of Mount Kenya. These schools serve some of the most vulnerable children, whose families cannot afford private or boarding schools. Many girls drop out due to poverty, shame, and lack of dignity.
💛 £40 can provide one girl with:
* A dignified school uniform
* Shoes
* A pack of reusable sanitary towels
At WENDO, we believe that when girls learn in a safe and dignified environment, they thrive — not just in school, but in life.
This walk is my way of standing with them.
Every step I take is a step toward education, dignity, and opportunity.
