Berkshire Healthcare Charity is launching an appeal to enhance patient care and staff support at West Berkshire Community Hospital’s inpatients wards Donnington and Highclere. This initiative will help fund essential equipment, therapeutic and holistic resources for rehabilitation patients, and those receiving palliative and end-of-life care.

We proudly fund enhancements across a range of spaces within the hospital—from the general wards to the bistro and the Rainbow Rooms—ensuring that every area contributes to a more supportive and healing environment. While the Rainbow Rooms themselves were not originally funded by Berkshire Healthcare Charity, we continue to invest in features that enhance the comfort, dignity, and experience of patients and their families.

Building on this compassionate approach, we are now planning to introduce Butterfly Rooms—dedicated spaces designed specifically for patients receiving palliative care. These rooms will provide a calm, dignified setting that prioritises peace, privacy, and sensitivity to patients.
