West Ham has long been regarded as one of the top amateur boxing clubs in the UK and they continue to produce National champions, season after season.
The club consists of: 80 members from the age of 7-17 years. Girls and boys from Essex, as well as Kent and wider London. Run by 9 volunteer coaches and administration, all from the local community.
Unemployment in East London is high, especially among the young which means the odds really are stacked against the young people from this local community.
West Ham Boxing Club is helping to improve these odds by engaging young people and teaching them discipline, honour and pride, building their character and helping them find a passion and focus which keeps them off the streets.
The club is a great resource for wayward youth, while at the same time it focuses on maintaining the success the club has enjoyed for decades.
