The ocean is changing rapidly due to climate change and human influence. This is having an unprecedented impact on all the animals that call the ocean their home.

Of all the creatures in the marine environment, whales and dolphins are among the most recognisable and loved. However, we rarely get a glimpse into their secret and mysterious underwater world.

But whilst we can't necessarily SEE marine mammals in their deep underwater habitat, we can LISTEN. Special technology means scientists can actually HEAR underwater - creating an amazing picture of life under the water.

What we learn by listening to marine mammals can help us work out how to protect them and the habitats where they live.
