"What a Load of Rubbish..."

We are seeking to raise £6000 to cover the cost of bins needed to comply with new food waste legislation at the farm. Due to rising bills across the board, this is a huge financial hit to the charity.

Caring For Life is a Christian charity that supports at-risk and disadvantaged adults in Leeds, and that need is bigger now than ever… However, sadly, the costs of running the charity are also higher now than ever!
Since the 1st of April, much of the outgoings for Caring For Life have gone up, with national insurance contributions, national living wage, pensions, water, and food costs all rising! This means we might need to pull money away from our core services just to cover these increasing prices, which we would rather not do!
In addition to all these other costs, from the 1st of April, the government has brought in ‘Simpler Recycling’ reforms. This alone is costing the charity over £6000 to buy appropriate recycling bins so we comply with all the new legislation..
We are seeking to cover some of the cost this new initiative has had on Caring For Life and would be hugely grateful if you are in a position to give, if you might be able to make a donation to help us do this, however big or small!
By donating to this cause, you are helping us to make sure that our core services are not affected and that we are able to continue supporting as many people across Leeds as we can!
… But on a serious note… Here at Caring For Life, we have always strived to run Crag House Farm for the benefit of the environment and take care of the creation God has blessed us with. Therefore, we can absolutely see that this is ultimately a GOOD step for the charity and will set a great example to our beneficiaries in taking care of God’s beautiful creation.
This 'Simpler Recycling' reform is new legislation, which means all workplaces in England with more than 10 employees now have a legal duty to separate recyclable and domestic waste. Which practically means workplaces must separate:
• Dry recyclable wate e.g paper, glass, metal, plastic
• Food waste
• Residual black bin waste
This is all to help reduce landfill waste and therefore benefit our environment, so although this is about ‘a load of rubbish’, it’s actually a GOOD thing!
Please also help by sharing our giving page on social media or telling your family and friends so we can spread the news!
