This is only a fraction of what could have been achieved. During this time we have relied on hiring vans. With only direct costs and an increasing demand for collections we need to think longer term and make your donations go further. Van hire cost alone were over 11,000 in 2023 - 2024 and increased again in 204-2025.

Finally having our own set of wheels means we can
- redirect this direct cost to within the charity and use the vehicles as an additional donation source
- respond to requests more regularly, especially large volume and ad hoc ones resulting in an increase in equipment donations
- benefit from on road branding and exposure which will ultimately benefit more poeiple in the UK and in developing countries.

Donating to this project is an act that contributes as an ongoing reward. Your donation means you have a hand in everything that is rescued from landfill. Your donation will not only be having an impact here in communities all over the UK, by providing an emotional legacy for loved ones items, but reach far and wide globally. See below.

Wheels to Heal is a registered UK charity that offers a FREE quarterly uplift of unwanted mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, Zimmer frames, walking sticks, commodes, three wheel supports, table trolleys, blankets and more. Items are collected from care homes, households, medical facilities and recycling centres. We up-cycle this equipment for reuse by disabled people in developing countries. The initiative has recycled over 40,000 mobility aids to date.

The items are not reused in the UK. They are gifted and are not for resale. Any item needing minor repair are dealt with in-country. The vast majority of items are non electrical, requiring manual operation.

These items are put to incredibly good use in countries such as; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Gambia, Ghana, Iraq, Jamaica, Kenya, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Malawi, Morocco, Somalia, Sierra Leon, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tanzania, Ukraine, Uganda, and Yemen where these will transform lives.

The purchase of 2 vans will allow us to cover Scotland, where most items are donated and increase our present in England and Wales.
