Story

The Clubhouse has been an important part of Whiteley Village social life since it was formally opened by His Majesty King George V on 28 May 1921 on the occasion of his visit with Her Majesty Queen Mary.

Today we seek funds to build, subject to planning permission*, an accessible toilet to improve inclusivity for the wellbeing of all residents. The challenges of altering a Grade II Listed building mean this is a costly project, but one which will be welcomed and appreciated by our community.

We could not do this valuable work without the generous support of personal and corporate donations, grants and trusts.

*In the event of planning applications not being successful all funds raised will go to the improvement of existing toilet facilities in our Grade II Listed Village Hall.

About the charity

The Whiteley Homes Trust believes everyone has the right to live well in a good home as they age, regardless of their financial means. We offer housing in Whiteley Village, to around 400 older people who are unable to buy or rent their own home on the open market.
