Whiteley Village Community Choir

Our choir draws members from our almshouse village and the neighbouring community, bringing a sense of joy and wellbeing to their lives. We are raising funds for the annual cost of the choir leader who comes to us from the Voices of Hope charity.

The Whiteley Homes Trust believes everyone has the right to live well in a good home as they age, regardless of their financial means. We offer housing in Whiteley Village, to around 400 older people who are unable to buy or rent their own home on the open market.

Story

In these challenging times The Whiteley Homes Trust continues to provide our residents, who would not be able to rent or buy in the open market, with safe homes and access to services, in a beautiful environment, according to the will of William Whiteley in 1907.

Our choir gathers weekly for rehearsals, in the Eliza Palmer Hub, Whiteley Village. It draws members from our almshouse village and the local community, bringing a sense of joy, togetherness and wellbeing to their lives.

I love being able to walk to the hub and sing for an hour for the sheer joy of singing. If only more residents could feel the same. If that feeling could be 'bottled' people who go on about wellbeing would be out of a job!

Nothing beats the coming together of like minded people and singing ones heart out.

We are raising funds for the annual cost of the choir leader who comes to us from the Voices of Hope charity, and your support would mean a lot to our community.
