Story
88 Keys Campaign
Every piano has 88 keys – each instrumental to the music it makes.
Just like every performer, musician and singer in our choirs, orchestras and musical performances.
Our new auditorium is a wonderful new performance space; brilliant for formal and informal school concerts, assemblies, rehearsals, theatre and outreach work which can host audiences of up to 500 people.
At present, the old Yamaha mini grand piano in the room does not befit the brilliant space that we have, and there is demand from our student and parent body, along with local organisations such as the Wimbledon Choral Society and Wimbledon Music Festival, to match this performance space with a suitable instrument.
The instrument would inspire and aid the next generation of pianists and help Wimbledon High School become a hub of musical activity in our local community.
How You Can Help
This year, we are fundraising to purchase a Steinway piano for our school.
On Wednesday 21st May all of our Junior School pupils are taking part in a 12 hour playathon where they will be singing, playing and performing to help us reach our fundraising target by the end of the school term.

We have been lucky enough to hold a whole host of wonderful concerts and events in our Auditorium over the past two years, and we are now looking to acquire a piano that befits this wonderful space. Not only will purchasing a new Steinway Grand piano benefit our students at Wimbledon High School, but it will further serve to place our school at the centre of a thriving musical community: whether that be in our Partnerships work, working with local choral societies and musical organisations, or hosting professional artists for masterclasses and concerts." - Will Ford, WHS's Director of Music
