Wild Frontiers' India director, JP Sharma, appealed for help to assist people in need in his home town of Bundi who, due to the consequences of COVID-19 and the lockdown, were left without an income.
JP has been busy distributing food parcels, sanitisers and face masks to people in need, who lost the ability to earn a daily wage while lockdown was enforced, and to priests whose temples were closed during lockdown.
Funds have also been used to supply personal protective equipment to the local government hospital after staff asked for help. This has included N95 face masks, bottles of sanitiser and thermal scanners as requested by the hospital.
JP has been overwhelmed with the support received and will continue to help the community and in and around Bundi as the need arises.
Thank you

With India being a country close to Wild Frontiers heart for almost 20 years, and the reports of the effects COVID-19 is having on the livelihoods and health of poor communities across all states, we wanted to help where we could. But with the scale of the country, its population, the disease itself and all its repercussions, where do you start?
Wanting to ensure we could help in a meaningful way at a grassroots level, we teamed up with long time friend and director of Wild Frontiers in India, JP Sharma.
Sensing the countrywide lock-down, JP moved his Delhi based team to work from home and returned to his hometown of Bundi to find many people in his community in need.
JP has since helped mobilise members of the community to distribute care packages of food, sanitisers and masks (which are now compulsory for anyone who leaves their home).
'Due to the lock-down, most of the people who work on daily wages are not getting any income and are in desperate need of food and raw materials, JP explained, The Government of Rajasthan and other NGOs are providing some, but its just not enough as the situation becomes worse.
'We have also received requests from the local hospital for face masks and personal protection equipment.'
The Wild Frontiers Foundation is calling on you to help us to help JP and the community by donating to this emergency response appeal.
