Our vision is to protect threatened species and enable people to help wildlife thrive. We're home to over 400 amazing animals, some are sadly vulnerable to extinction. It costs over £11,500 each week to feed and care for them. Your donations really do help.

Story

Dartmoor Zoo has THE largest Big Cat collection in the South West.

Sadly many big cats are now classified as endangered in the wild and only through concerted global conservation programmes will they have any real chance of survival. Dartmoor Zoo lion, Kimya, is an example of our conservation in action and we are proud to be part of their care and protection.

By raising money through putting some 'Wild in your Stride' you will be contributing towards the care and protection of these majestic creatures.

Did you know, some cat species roam anywhere between 6 - 12 miles a day in search of food, water or a territory to call home? Have you got what it takes to walk or run the equivalent of one, five or seven days at 8, 40 and 56 miles?

Whether you want to set yourself a day walk/run challenge, or you want to fill your whole month with wild strides, we have options available for everyone. All we ask is that you get as many sponsors as you can for this great cause and complete your challenge by the end of August 2023.

Everything we do has the conservation of individual species and how we live alongside them in mind and your Zoo needs you to help keep this passion alive. By helping people and helping wildlife, we can protect this wonderful planet we call home and provide a harmonious future for all generations to come. We cannot risk losing any of these beautiful species, so please, get your trainers out, step into nature and know every footstep is worthwhile.
