Story
Every child deserves a space where they can explore, be curious, feel free and learn in the way children learn best: through movement, discovery and imagination.
That is why we're creating Beech Hyde's Wildlife Wood. A magical outdoor space within our school filled with wildflowers, trees, sensory paths, and natural play areas buzzing with birds and butterflies. To see our amazing campaign video, go to www.youtube.com and search for 'Beech Hyde Wildlife Wood'!
Outdoor learning isn’t just a nice idea. Research shows it works. In fact, one national study found that 92% of schools saw improvements in pupils’ engagement with learning when lessons took place outside. Other studies show outdoor learning boosts wellbeing, reduces stress, improves focus and supports positive behaviour.
For children with additional needs and SEND, nature based learning can be transformational. Being outdoors provides sensory comfort, freedom to regulate emotions, space to move and more chances to succeed and shine in ways the classroom can't always provide.
We’re aiming to raise £15,000 to bring this vision to life, with £5,000 raised so far from last year’s fundraising events!
Your donations will help us:
🌿 Create the Wildlife Wood with natural play, sensory paths and wildlife habitats.
🌿 Fund one of our teachers to become a fully qualified Forest School Leader, ensuring outdoor learning remains at the heart of Beech Hyde for years to come.
This green space will support every child in our school and will also benefit our wider community. Families, nature clubs, after school groups and volunteers will all be welcome to enjoy and nurture it as it grows.
With your support, we can help more children bloom and grow in nature.
Please give what you can and help build Beech Hyde's Wildlife Wood.
