Story

Will Hartley, Production Operations & Sales Planning Manager based at Hare Brewery, will be taking part in the 2026 London Marathon on Sunday 26th April to raise money and awareness for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), on behalf of the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust.

As St Austell Brewery’s official charity of the year, Children’s Hospice South West will be the beneficiary of Will’s fundraising. Every penny raised by Will and the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust will go toward palliative, respite, end of life and bereavement care for life-limited and terminally ill children, and their families, from the South West. You can find out more about the charity here.

St Austell Brewery’s Charitable Trust has been supporting local charities, good causes, and individuals in need across the South West, since its launch in 2003. To date, the Charitable Trust has raised more than £1,000,000 which goes straight back into locals communities from Land's End to Bath. Which is why using this opportunity to support CHSW, St Austell Brewery’s official charity of the year, feels a natural choice.

Will said: "I am enormously proud to work for St Austell Brewery, and a big part of that is because of the Charitable Trust. I think it’s amazing that a business of our size - in a challenging industry - has had a Charitable Trust that has raised so much money for so many great causes over the years (£1m+ in the last 18 years!)."

"To be selected to fundraise on behalf of the Charitable Trust is a dream come true: it's an honour to be sharing examples of all the good work it does.

He added: “All money raised from my fundraising will be gifted by the Trust to Children’s Hospice South West, which I think is incredible and just makes me more passionate to raise as much money and awareness for both charities as possible”

“CHSW has just been announced as the Brewery’s official charity of the year and we’re all excited to see how much of a difference this can make and how we can all play our part.”
