Story
On the 5th October, I’ll be running over 80km in a single day—an ultramarathon that starts at Gravesend RNLI, continues through Tower and Chiswick RNLI stations, and finishes at Teddington RNLI. The route follows the Thames, running along the river throughout the journey.
Why?
Because the RNLI has always meant a lot to me and my family.
As a chlld, trips to the coast often included a visit to the local lifeboat station. I used to love climbing aboard (when they let us!), exploring the boats, and imagining the bravery of the crews heading out to sea. Even back then, I knew the RNLI wasn’t just about boats—it was about people willing to risk everything to save others. This run is my way of giving back.
It’s not a race, but a personal commitment—and I’m determined to complete it.
The river is at the heart of London, and the RNLI is always there, watching over it. This run is my way of showing support for the crews who look after all of us—whether we’re by the coast or right here in the city.
If you can spare a donation, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every pound will help the RNLI continue saving lives.
If you could update the page, this would be amazing
Best,
Will
