Story
We're taking part in our first-ever triathlon to raise funds and awareness of Grow. The funds go a long way in helping us support young people in Sheffield combat isolation, improve wellbeing, gain employability skills and secure a job.
Fancy taking on a physical challenge for a great cause? Join us at the Wilmslow Autumn Triathlon this September where we’ll be competing as individuals and relay teams. Whether you’re a first-timer, novice or seasoned participant, we welcome your efforts and look forward to swimming, cycling and running alongside you!
If you’re looking for a fun outdoor challenge with a bit of competition, this could be the one for you.
A bit about Grow...
We are Grow, a nature-based youth development charity in Sheffield. We work with marginalised and vulnerable young people aged 16-24 across the city's deprived communities. Many of those we work with face barriers to accessing support and employment, including mental ill-health, social isolation and lack of employment prospects.
Our innovative approach combines coaching with nature-based projects and activities such as gardening and nature walks. Through our therapeutic work, we aim to break the cycle of mental ill-health and social isolation and equip young people with the confidence and tools needed to thrive in life.
I started to believe in myself. As the programme progressed, my knowledge grew. I have confidence in myself that I can do things that I never thought I could. (Grow Gardeners trainee)
