Emergency Winter Campaign

Campaign by Beloved Rabbits

Help Beloved Rabbits cover winter rescue costs. Donations keep our general fund strong so we can take in urgent surrenders, treat illness, and support rabbits through recovery when adoptions slow and costs rise.

Story

EMERGENCY WINTER CAMPAIGN

Beloved Rabbits is here for rabbits who have nowhere else to go. Winter is one of the most challenging times for rescue. More rabbits need help. Fewer people adopt. Donations often drop after Christmas. Vet and care costs keep rising.

This campaign is a winter boost to our general funds so we can keep saying “yes” to urgent cases and keep every rabbit safe, warm, fed, and treated.

We can plan for hay. We cannot plan for emergency vet bills. Winter is when those bills hit hardest.

WHY WINTER HITS HARDER

During winter, you often see:

- More urgent surrenders, including rabbits kept outdoors, neglected, or left behind.

- More complex illness, including respiratory issues, gut stasis, dental flare-ups, and infections.

- Longer stay lengths because adoption interest slows.

- Higher day-to-day running costs like heating, electricity, bedding, and specialist diets.

- Bigger vet bills due to diagnostics, medication, and repeat check-ups.

WHAT YOUR DONATION PAYS FOR

Your donation goes into our general rescue fund, which can be used where the need is most urgent. Typical winter costs include:

- Vet consults, emergency appointments, diagnostics, medication, and surgery support.

- Hay, pellets, fresh greens, and recovery diets.

- Bedding and hygiene supplies, plus deep cleaning and disinfectants.

- Heating, electricity, and safe indoor setups.

- Quarantine and isolation care for infectious or fragile rabbits.

- Ongoing welfare support for adopters, so rabbits stay in homes long term.

When a rabbit arrives in pain, the clock starts. General funds are what let us act fast.

WHAT IMPACT LOOKS LIKE

£10 can help fund hay and bedding for a rabbit in care

£25 can help cover recovery feeds and medication support

£50 can help cover part of an urgent vet visit

£100 can help support diagnostics and follow-up care

Any amount helps. Small gifts add up fast, especially with Gift Aid.

Your donation is not abstract. It pays for treatment, warmth, and time to recover.

REALITY OF RESCUE

Rabbits do not arrive with a neat problem list. Many arrive scared, underweight, or unwell. Some arrive with no history at all. Winter adds pressure to every part of that journey. Your donation gives us breathing space to act quickly when a rabbit cannot wait.
