Faced with the closure of our much loved swimming baths, a heritage asset that has been a part of our community since 1911, the people of Withington rallied round to form a charity and take over the running of Withington Baths in 2015.

The community charity has successfully run the Baths ever since and has restored the building to its original architectural glory through a £2.8m restoration project.

The not for profit charity group provides free or affordable exercise, health, well being, educational, training, employment, cultural and social opportunities for the Withington and wider Manchester community.

Every penny raised goes back into the improvement of the facility or the provision of additional activities for the community.

Amongst our current improvement projects we are looking to create a café which will provide a welcome space of friendly interaction for all members of our community. A welcoming and friendly place at the heart of The Baths which will bring people together of all ages over a brew and help address the important issue of social isolation and loneliness in society in particular for the older members of of community.

We are also looking to create a beautiful new community garden where children can play, parents can chat, older folk can dwell, socialise and relax and a space for food growing for our café, community events and nature to bloom in the heart of city.,
