Story

Sponsor our walk in support of the Woldingham School House Charities.

Barat = War Child. Founded by film-makers David Wilson and Bill Leeson. Horrified by the violence and ethnic cleansing in the former-Yugoslavia during the Bosnian war, especially its impact on children, they launched War Child. Instead of relying on politicians, they looked to music and film stars, to help publicise the plight of children caught up in war.

Digby = The Laini Saba School, Kenya. Laini Saba is a Sacred Heart supported school located in Kibera, Nairobi's largest slum. Each year the school takes in up to 500 children, many are orphans. As well as academic learning, the school supports the emotional development of the children through counselling, their physical development, feeding programmes and co-curricular activities. This year, the money raised by Digby House will be used to provide Laini Saba with stationery and sanitary products.

Duchesne = PSDS. Their principal goal is to provide support for children with Down syndrome and their families. They meet regularly to share experiences and provide a network of support and expertise for children with Down syndrome and their families. PSDS is a local charity based in Outwood.

Stuart = Centrepoint. Provide housing and support for young people all over the UK. They aim to give homeless young people a future and want to end youth homelessness. More than 400 staff work for Centrepoint across the country, supporting homeless young people into a home and a job every day. They include front line workers based in Centrepoint hostels, counsellors and health supporters.
