Story

Our incredible nurses are stepping up to take part in our Walk of Light to support the hospice and the patients they care for. Every day, they provide compassionate care to those facing life-limiting illnesses, and now they’re walking in honour of their patients, families, and loved ones. By joining the Walk of Light, they’re not only raising vital funds but also shining a light on the importance of hospice care in our community. Please support them as they go the extra mile to make a difference!

Some quotes from our amazing nurses:

"Without the charity, we would not have such a fantastic team for our patients and their families. This is one of my personal ways of supporting such an amazing charity" Liz (FNH@Home Team).

" I'm doing this walk to help raise funds to support this fantastic charity and hopefully we can raise lots of money to support it" Maria (MLD Therapist Lymphoedema service).

"I am doing the walk of light with my daughter Charlotte who is 6mths old, as Florence nightingale provides an individual service which I am incredibly proud to be part of. Florence Nightingale Hospice is a very special place to me. I started working in the hospice as a healthcare assistant, then as a staff nurse and now working for the Hospice at home team. I have seen first hand the impact that Florence Nightingale has on the inpatients as well as those at home, and the support given to not only the patients but their loved ones too. Without the charity we would not be able provide the care and support that our patients deserve". Jessie (FNH@Home Team).

"The charity not only supports Florence Nightingale House, but also funds some of the clinical Nurse Specialists working in the community. This promotes the collaboration of inpatient and community access to specialist palliative support in Buckinghamshire. I have been fortunate to receive funding from the charity for some of my specialist training, keeping me updated with current developments in palliative care. Participating in the walk makes me proud to support the charity and my colleagues". Marina (FNH Clinical nurse specialist).

"Without the charity the Hospice @ Home service would not exist, a service which allows us to care and support our patients in their final days in their own homes. This is my chance to support the charity". Fiona (FNH@Home Team Lead).

" I have worked as an administrator for FNH community for nearly 20 years. I feel the level of care & support I witness everyday is amazing and such an integral part of allowing patients to remain in their own home" Lisa (FNH community Admin).
