Story

21 Miles, Thousands of Stories

This September, fifteen of us are taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon for WONDER Foundation, a UK charity working with women and girls to move out of poverty through education, mentoring and leadership.

How WONDER works

WONDER doesn't run programmes from a distance. It partners with locally-led organisations across more than twenty countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, backing local leaders who already know their communities best. Since 2012, WONDER has reached over 165,000 women and girls through this model.

Why it matters

It's the same story repeated in different countries: a girl who stays in school, a woman who starts a small business, a mentor who passes on what she's learned to the next girl coming up behind her. That's what mentoring and training can do when women lead the way for each other.

What your donation can do

Every pound raised here goes towards funding more of that mentoring, that training, that next step for a woman or girl who's ready to take it.
