Story

Why is Woody fundraising?

Woody is a Health Care Support Worker for DCH's Emergency Department. She has spent 10 years of her working life supporting staff and caring for patients using the service.

Over the years she has witnessed first-hand the pressure her and her colleagues have faced. When the Emergency Department was built its capacity was to accommodate 22,000 attendances, which more than doubled in 2021/22 to attendances of 50,119.

Woody can see how a new Emergency and Critical Care with new facilities can greatly improve staff welfare and transform the experience of Emergency & Critical Care patients and their families.

Woody's Fundraising Challenge

She has set herself an incredible goal to fundraise for a year towards her target of £3,000 for our Emergency and Critical Care Appeal with lots of fundraising events and ideas.

Woody has a ready kicked off the year with running a marathon to celebrate her birthday!

Her next fundraiser is an Easter Bingo Event at Dorchester Prison on Friday 28th March. Tickets are £10 each can be bought by emailing Woody on anneliverpool@aol.com. For more information see the poster below.

She is also taking part in the Half Hardy Half Marathon on May 11th. The 5K Muddy Run in Poole on 31st May and the 10K Combe Keynes 10K in Wareham to name but a few.

Please show your support to Woody because without the wonderful staff we have a DCH it would not be the place it is today!
