Story

Worcestershire Planting Trees for the Jubilee Appeal

To mark Her Majestys Platinum Jubilee in 2022, The Lord-Lieutenant is inviting Worcestershire to Plant a Tree for the Jubilee. The initiative is part of The Queens Green Canopy, a UK-wide tree planting project aimed at creating a legacy in honour of The Queen, for future generations to enjoy.

The Lord-Lieutenant, Lt Col Patrick Holcroft LVO OBE, is encouraging Worcestershires residents, landowners, schools, communities, towns, parishes and businesses to take part in this wonderful initiative and plant trees from 1st October (when the tree planting season begins) through to the end of the Jubilee year in 2022. Everything from single trees, small groups to forests are most welcome.

To ensure that everyone can benefit and enjoy this initiative, The Lord-Lieutenant, in collaboration with Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Community Foundation, has set up a fund to raise money to help those who need support to fund their planting.

Please help us create a sustainable living legacy and make Worcestershire greener and healthier for future generations, by donating to this fund. All money donated will go to those who need support towards buying a tree or trees. The more donations we have, the more trees we can plant!

Thank you for your generosity.
