World Ranger Day is our chance to honour some of the bravest, most selfless people on the planet - our incredible wildlife rangers.

Every day, they put their lives on the line to protect the world’s most endangered animals. In the thick, unforgiving forests of central Africa, rangers destroy deadly snares, and face down armed poachers - all to protect the world's last remaining gorillas.

Today, we not only celebrate their courage, commitment and sacrifice - we support them – because they need us more than ever!

Rangers Are Under Siege - The Situation is Urgent.

In the ongoing war in DR Congo militia fighters have flooded into gorilla territory. Rangers have had their vehicles and vital equipment stolen - often at gunpoint. Others have returned from patrol to find their kit destroyed.

At the same time, thousands of refugees are returning to the DRC, and many may be forced to hunt to survive. That brings them into fragile gorilla habitat.

The threats are growing. The risks are multiplying.

And our rangers? They are the only thing standing between gorillas and extinction.

But they cannot do it alone.

This World Ranger Day - Let’s make sure they have everything they need to continue their vital, lifesaving work.

Today we’re ambitiously aiming to raise £2,880 in just 24 hours.

That’s enough to fund 10 fully equipped Gorilla Boxes, each one packed with all the essential gear a ranger needs to survive the jungle and protect gorillas for a whole year.

Each Gorilla Box equips a ranger with durable, life-saving gear tailored for survival in the jungle. They can include:
