Story

The Challenge of Asthma

Every day, millions of people struggle to breathe due to asthma, a chronic respiratory condition that can be life-threatening. For many, even simple activities like playing outside or climbing stairs can become daunting challenges. Our mission is to raise awareness, educate and support those affected by asthma, their families and support network.

A Personal Story

Meet Olive, read her story :

I love the park, a place where I can run and have fun free with my friends. But as I grew older, asthma transformed my joy into anxiety. The fear of an unexpected attack loomed over every outing.

One day, my school organised an asthma awareness workshop led by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation. I didn`t think there was anything I didn`t already know. However, what I learned turned out to be life-changing.

The workshop taught me how to recognise my triggers, use my inhaler properly, and anticipate my body’s responses. For the first time, I felt empowered. With the support of my family, friends, and teachers, I began to apply this new learning.

Slowly, my confidence grew. I started participating in outdoor activities again, always prepared with my inhaler in hand. With each step I took, I realised that education had given me the tools to manage my condition.

Now, I lead my own awareness campaigns at school, sharing my story and encouraging others to understand asthma. My journey from fear to empowerment shows that with education and support, it’s possible to breathe freely again.
