Story
10 th October marks two important awareness days – World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day and sadly the two are very much intertwined.
The reasons for someone becoming homeless are complex and varied. Rarely are they due to one factor but many
people experience significant mental health challenges before they end up on the street, living in their car or on someone’s sofa.
We recognise that many people, from all walks of life, from time to time will struggle with their mental health;
relationship breakdown, unemployment, inadequate housing, debt can all make life feel overwhelming, unless you have a strong support network.
We also recognise that you are part of our community and by that we know you are compassionate and caring.
As we mark World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day we invite you to make a gift today that will enable someone we support to have a brighter tomorrow.
£114.50 - Opening doors
We aim to support people to begin to imagine a bright future, including training and employment. Your gift could help someone overcome practical barriers by replacing a lost birth certificate and passport.
£62.60 - Building trust
For the people we support meeting their support worker can changed everything. Your gift could help create three opportunities for a support worker to connect with someone who is homeless beyond formal appointments, building trust through everyday experiences.
