Story
This festive season, we’re raising our voices (for four whole hours!) to keep something special alive — WORLDwrite, the East London charity that champions humanity, freedom, education, and opportunity through film.
On Friday 12th December from 7pm, a brave band of singers, volunteers, and friends will take part in a 4-hour Festive Singathon — belting out everything from timeless carols to cheesy pop hits — all to help keep WORLDwrite’s Volunteer Centre open into the New Year.
For over three decades, WORLDwrite has opened its doors to thousands of young people — offering free film training, a creative community, and the chance to make thought-provoking documentaries tackling issues of free speech, freedom, equality and the best for all.
In a world where opportunities often come with a price tag, WORLDwrite stands out for what it doesn’t charge. Every workshop, every shoot, every editing session is free — powered by volunteers and passion. But now, after a tough year, the charity is in a difficult spot.
That’s why we’re singing our hearts out — to make sure the cameras keep rolling, the lights stay on, and the next generation of film makers has a place to learn, create, and challenge the world.
🎤 How You Can Help
Sponsor our singathon — every note, every chorus, every festive tune helps keep WORLDwrite’s doors open.
Your donation will go directly toward:
✨ Keeping the Volunteer Centre running into 2026
🎬 Providing free film training
🕊️ Supporting WORLDwrite’s unique “freedom projects” that encourage us all to think critically and speak freely
Whether you can give £5, £50, £500 or more, your contribution will make a huge difference.
🎁 Join the Chorus of Change
We’ll be live-streaming parts of our singathon, sharing behind-the-scenes videos, and celebrating every milestone — so your support will be seen, heard, and sung about!
So, this Christmas why not give the gift of opportunity and freedom.
Help us hit our fundraising target and keep WORLDwrite’s creative spirit alive.
Thank you
