Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

As part of our ongoing partnership with British Heart Foundation (BHF), we will be fundraising to help pay for lifesaving research into cardiovascular conditions. Did you know that in West Yorkshire, BHF are funding 38 research projects at the University of Leeds? Their work is happening right on our doorstep and we’re thrilled to be supporting it.

As well as our employees getting involved, we’re encouraging any club, league, or volunteer to hold their own BHF fundraising event across the region. Whether that’s through donating to BHF during reaffiliation, hosting a football tournament to raise funds, or supporting with a small fundraiser at your club. The partnership will very much hold the community at the heart of it.

On the health side, West Riding will work with grassroots clubs to raise awareness of BHFs heart health resources. Footballers and supporters will also be encouraged to learn CPR using BHF’s innovative tool RevivR, which teaches the lifesaving skill in just 15 minutes on your mobile device.  RevivR teaches you how to recognise a cardiac arrest, gives feedback on chest compressions and outlines the correct steps of defibrillator use, giving anyone the confidence to step in and save a life in the event of the ultimate medical emergency.

The money raised by West Riding FA will help BHF fund vital research into cardiovascular conditions like heart attacks, stroke and vascular dementia, and the risk factors that can cause them, such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

Thank you for supporting our partnership.
