Story

Two of our hardy library volunteers, Alan and George, are trekking the Borders Abbeys Way walk, 107Km through beautiful Scottish countryside.

The walk will be done over 6 days, starting on 26th May, and they have generously offered to do this on behalf of Whickham Volunteer Library Association.

We're a valued community asset, completely volunteer-run, and took over as a charity when the local authority could no longer support keeping the library open. Here we have two volunteers literally prepared to go the extra mile to raise funds to pay the bills. Please support them.
