Story

Warrington Wolves are preparing to give back to the local community this Christmastime with an ambitious 36-hour Xmas Community Challenge across the town next Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 December.

The first-team squad, along with the performance team and club staff, will be out and about on bikes visiting and helping out with numerous community and charity projects across Warrington.

Furthermore, hundreds of community club youngsters and members of Warrington Wolves Foundation partnership projects Fit to Tackle Offload and Learning Disability Rugby League will benefit from a two-hour session with the players at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on the Wednesday evening, 6pm-8pm.

The players will also be undertaking activities with local schools and colleges as well as the police force and fire service.

The 36-hour project will culminate in a major challenge spread across four locations in which supporters can get down to and join in with the squad.

The players will be divided into four teams on Thursday 19 December based at Tesco Extra (Winwick Road), Golden Square Shopping Mall, Birchwood Shopping Centre and ASDA (Cockhedge Centre) between 4pm-7.30pm.

Further details about the challenge will be announced, fans will be able to partake in the activity with their Rugby League idols as the players look to race against the clock and each other.

At this time of year the club sees it as important as ever to give back to our town and were asking for donations to be made to the Warrington Wolves Foundation which will be split amongst our partner charities this Christmas.

Keep an eye out on our social media channels next week as the 36-hour challenge unfolds using the hashtag #XmasCommunityChallenge and if you see the lads on their bikes cycling across the town beep your car horns and pass on your support!
