Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) sponsored 24-hour Bikeathon
To mark National Bike Week this year (8-14 June), the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) Health and Wellbeing Team, working in partnership with the YAS Charity, are running a 24 hour Bikeathon at the Trust’s Headquarters on Wednesday 10 June.
This fun and sporty challenge will bring colleagues together and highlight the importance of movement, teamwork and looking after our health, whilst raising awareness of the benefits of cycling specifically.
Over the 24 hours, members of the Health and Wellbeing Team will take turns riding an exercise bike continuously, demonstrating that even small amounts of activity can add up and make a meaningful difference. Our staff and volunteers will be invited to take a turn too for shorter periods.
Alongside raising awareness of wellbeing and the benefits of physical activity, the Bikeathon will also be fundraising for the YAS Charity. Money raised will support future health and wellbeing initiatives for Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff and volunteers, helping to ensure continued investment in activities and support that benefit colleagues across the Trust
The event is not open for members of the public to attend however we are very grateful for any donations made in support of the event, which will feature on the YAS Charity and YAS Trust social media pages throughout the 24-hours.
