The GateWay Boarding Academy program is unique! It differs significantly from typical tutorial programs.

(1) The tutorial program is a 3-day per week after-school academic program supplemented by:

-Summer Earn & Learn Program: Enables students to apply math, in the real world, occupational area and receive a stipend for doing so.

-Summer Camp Program: Uses fun activities (e.g., hiking, canoeing, rock climbing) to reinforce problem-solving and other life-skills while strengthening their academic skills.

(2) Tutorial programs typically provide academic help in a current subject area, and most do so for a fee. Our academic program instead provides instruction that better equips our students to learn in most academic subjects and we do so without charging a fee.

(3) We serve middle and high school aged male students, that may not have been effectively taught in earlier grades.

(4) At the time most students enroll in our program, they are functioning significantly below their current grade levels. However, with consistent time in the program, we are successful in helping them thrive, many going on to college.

(5) Class sizes are kept small to assure academic growth through individualized instruction.
