Yemen has endured more than a decade of crisis. But for millions of families, the emergency is far from over.

Behind the statistics are mothers trying to feed their children, families struggling to find safe water, and communities doing everything they can to survive.

*In 2026, approximately 19.7 million people in Yemen need humanitarian assistance. Around 49% of the population is facing severe food insecurity, while 15.2 million people need water, sanitation and hygiene assistance. UNICEF also projects that approximately 500,000 children could suffer from severe wasting during 2026.

And the situation is getting worse.

During the June–September 2026 lean season, more than 5.4 million people in Government-controlled areas alone were projected to face acute food insecurity, with around 1.5 million facing emergency levels of hunger.

Yemen is not forgotten.
