Story
Five dedicated members of the Battens family, including our very own Senior Paralegal Isabelle Day are taking part in the Yeovil Half Marathon to raise vital funds for the Battens Charitable Trust.
Isabelle says: "I last ran the Yeovil Half Marathon in 2022 and have since lost my running ability. I decided to take up running again recently, totally from scratch, with the Couch to 5K, and why not see if I can achieve a second Half Marathon before I turn 30! I am proud to be running to raise funds for the BCT, which benefits so many local charities - Mind in Somerset in particular holds a special place in my heart."
The Battens Charitable Trust was set up in 1985 to enable grants to be made to registered charities and for charitable purposes in Somerset, Dorset and adjoining counties. In the last decade alone, the trust has donated approximately £537,000 and counting. Beneficiaries have been as diverse as local schools, youth organisations, hospitals and hospices, local foodbanks, wildlife organisations, disability groups and the arts.
We’re running to help ensure this vital support continues. Every penny donated goes directly toward transforming lives and strengthening our local communities. Whether big or small, your contribution truly makes a difference.
Your generosity fuels hope, compassion and real change for those who need it most.
Join us in supporting the Battens Charitable Trust. Together, we can make an impact — one step, one donation, one life at a time.
Donate today and be part of this incredible journey!
