Story

YMCA Bournemouth are committed to providing essential mental health support to individuals and families in the BCP community through its Full Circle Counselling Service.

They are asking for your help to raise £10,000 to enable it to continue offering free and subsidised counselling to those who need it the most.

Your support will directly help:

• Local families in crisis

• Young people with disabilities (via our Chatterboxes programme)

• Individuals facing housing challenges

• Families navigating difficult circumstances through YMCA Bournemouth's Child Contact Centers

YMCA Bournemouth's Impact

Currently, its counselling service is supporting 112 children and adults, providing 2799 sessions last year, with 1686 of those subsidised by YMCA Bournemouth. These sessions have made a real difference in the lives of individuals and families, helping them overcome challenges, improve mental well-being, and build stronger futures.

Testimonials from 2025:

Before starting counselling, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I thought it might just be about talking through my issues and maybe get some advise how to navigate through life. But what I experienced was so much more meaningful. Counselling gave me a safe, non-judgmental space to explore my thoughts and emotions at my own pace. My counsellor helped me to better understand myself and guided me toward practical ways to cope and grow. Over time I became more self-aware, confident and more in control of my emotions. I’m truly grateful for the support I received and would encourage anyone considering counselling to take that first step. It can be life-changing.

My therapy sessions with the YMCA have been very helpful to me. They helped me to cope with what I was going through and open my eyes on situations that should have never happened. I am now able to move on with my life.
