Story
Four young people (3 of them just teenagers) are taking on one of the toughest open water challenges in the world: swimming the English Channel.
Daisy-Mai Crossman, Billy Cyl, Katy Halford and Rachael Carpenter are pushing themselves far beyond their comfort zones. Cold water, strong currents, long hours—this is not an easy swim. But they are doing it together, and they are doing it for a reason.
They are raising funds for YMM, a charity that places trained mentors in schools at no cost. Right now, many schools simply cannot afford the level of pastoral support young people need. Budgets are stretched, and too many pupils are left without someone to talk to or anyone to offer them support when needed.
YMM changes that. Our mentors are there to listen, non judgementally, build trust, and help young people manage their mental wellbeing. No one is turned away because of money.
This challenge reflects what we believe. When young people are given the opportunity and the right support, they can achieve much more than they think. These four swimmers are proving that with every mile that they take on.
Your donation will help us reach more schools and support more young people who need someone in their corner.
Thank you for being part of it.
