The peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough & Whernside are known collectively as the Yorkshire Three Peaks. They are often walked as a circular route taking in all three mountains in one day. The route is 24 miles long & involves 5000 ft vertical ascent.

We are a volunteer-led charity working to tackle loneliness, reduce isolation, and support independence of people over the age of 65 living in York in three key ways: • Help with practical one-off jobs or errands. • Regular well being phone calls. • Social outings.

Story

York Neighbours is a volunteer-led charity based in the City of York dedicated to supporting people aged 65 and over so they can continue to live independently and feel connected to their community.

Through practical help with one-off tasks around the home (like shopping, small DIY or errands), regular friendly phone calls to provide companionship, and organised social outings and group trips, York Neighbours helps older people to reduce isolation and enjoy social connection
