Please help us complete the interior of the Dan Woods pavilion to aid sport for all, facilitating sporting opportunities for York Sports Club, local schools, and the disabled. Our fundraising opportunities have been limited, as a music festival, and two Yorkshire 1st class games were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. We hope to raise a further 20K with our JustGiving initiatives: Buy a Brick or contribute to have your name on the wall.
The sporting facility will be a fitting legacy to the amazing Dan Woods who tragically passed away last year, following a courageous battle against cancer. Dan was the heartbeat of the club for over 10 years, leading York Cricket Club to win the Kingfisher National Knockout cup in 2012, amongst other honours. Not only was Dan an exceptional cricketer and a previous captain of Cheshire, he was also a much revered and dedicated teacher, loved by the children he taught. He stood by his word '#BeAmazing'.
