Story

Youthline colleagues, friends and family are competing in the Bracknell Together Walk (https://bracknelltogetherwalk.org/) at South Hill Park on Sunday 22nd May 2022 to raise funds - and awareness - for our vital counselling service - we need your donations, your sponsorship, and hopefully your participation in our team!

The Rotary Club of Easthampstead and the South Hill Park Trust are hosting the walk at the historic grounds of South Hill Park in Bracknell. This is a fun walk with no pressure, for all ages and levels of fitness. There are £1,000 worth of prizes on offer for your chosen charity, with up to £250 available for the team or individual who makes the most impact on the day, including a prize for those raising the most money for their charity, and another for the team with the most entrants on the day. So, in addition to donating to our efforts here, you could join our team and raise sponsorship, and increase our chances of winning one of the above prizes! All are welcome to join our team, and if you inform us of your intention to join by Tuesday 3rd May, Youthline will cover your entry fee, since a maximum of £20 is charged; no matter how many on a team are registered at the same time. If you dont make our deadline you can still join us, even on the day itself, but you will need to cover the entrance fees yourself accompanied children under 14 get entry for free, while adults pay £5 per head, but please be aware that the maximum of charge of £20 regardless of the number may not be available if you leave it too late! So, why not enjoy a fun day out with your friends and family, and raise money for Youthline in the process? Contact us to join our team at ask@youthlineuk.com, or call (01344) 311200, but dont dawdle!

All walkers will get a free drink and snack and a commemorative certificate at the end of the walk. And there are two routes are available on the day depending on your ability, one of approx. three miles, and one approx. five, with the latter encompassing part of Swinley Forest, for the stronger walkers among you. Both routes will be signposted, and marshals will be in attendance at all times.

Face painting will be available to all walkers for free. And all are invited, whether taking part or not, to attend and make a day of it, perhaps by getting something to eat or drink, and listening to the live music to be performed in the afternoon on the South Hill Park Terrace.

If you cant attend, why not donate to our page here, or via one of our other fundraising options detailed on our website at https://www.youthlineuk.com/get-involved/support-us/? All your donations, in addition to all sponsorship and prize money raised on our behalf, will go to our vital work providing FREE face-to-face counselling at our Portman Close site, and at all secondary schools in Bracknell Forest Borough. Like all charities, Youthline have felt the pinch brought on by a combination of world events, particularly the pandemic, and we need your help now more than ever. To give examples of what your generously given money will do, £5 will provide resources for young people such as colouring, playdoh and toys; £20 will provide a counselling session for a young person or parent/carer, and £30 will cover an hour of group supervision for our counsellors
