Story
Our son Zach is 8 months from Lisburn. He was born with a rare genetic mutation that causes severe epilepsy and will significantly impact his development and life expectancy. Since his birth, our family has spent more time in hospital than at home, facing challenges that no parent ever expects to encounter.
Zach faces challenges everyday. He has multiple seizures, with no patterns and no triggers. He is on 3 anti seizure medications but we can’t gain enough seizure control so we have recently started the ketogenic diet under guidance from our dietitian.
Our goal is to support Zach in all areas of development. Our main focus currently is physiotherapy with Movement and Milestones which has shown great progress and we want to continue with this. The support towards physio will aid in Zach’s physical development and we would love to see Zach gain some head control.’
