Story

Thousands of needy families, Orphans and Widows fill the streets of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir waiting for your zakat.

With the month of Ramadhan drawing close, it's only natural for people to anticipate giving their Zakat until the month of Ramadhan.

With this in mind, families all across the whole of AJK and Pakistan are closely anticipating receiving your Zakat in order to provide their families with sufficient provisions to last.

In the Holy Qur'an, Zakat has not been classed as a burden but rather a means of self-purification of our sins and upliftment of our rank in the creator's eyes.

So please don't delay in giving charity in the path of Allah and be sure to choose a reliable and 100% donation charity like KORT.

Please don't forget to add Gift Aid to your donations which will help with KORT's admin costs. This also ensures all funds raised go towards this cause.

May Allah accept your fasts and good deeds this Ramadhan and may Allah bless you all in your health, wealth, and Imaan.

Frequently asked questions.

What is Zakat?

Zakat, meaning to purify, is the third pillar of Islam and is a compulsory charitable payment that goes on to benefit the poor and needy.

Every sane, adult Muslim whose wealth exceeds the current Nisab value must pay Zakat, which is 2.5% of the individuals total wealth.

Nisab is the minimum value of total wealth one must possess in order to pay Zakat. It is defined as the value of 87.5g of pure gold or 613g of silver. Most scholars favour the lower value as it means that more people can pay Zakat and therefore there are more beneficiaries.

The value of 613g of silver as of 19th of February 2024 = £362.

Please refer to your local imams for further questions relating to Zakat.
