Story

This September, ZANE founders Tom and Jane Benyon, along with their dog Moses, will embark on another sponsored walk for ZANE: This is their 15th sponsored walk. They are walking again because Zimbabwe is facing an escalating humanitarian crisis.

Over a third of Zimbabwe’s population faces starvation.

Almost 30% of children are living with chronic malnutrition. One million children do not attend school. After the hottest February on record, Zimbabwe is facing a catastrophic drought.

Imagine living in a country with third world health care facilities.

Imagine living in a country with primitive social services. If you are poor and alone in Zimbabwe, you are at the mercy of charity. If you are poor and ill, you will likely die in squalor.

You will have read little or nothing about any of this in the media.

You may be forgiven for thinking that the emergency in Zimbabwe is over.

It is far from over. The need for ZANE is greater than ever.

Tom and Jane are walking because ZANE is the only lifeline for so many of the old, the hungry and the sick. They walk to help the most vulnerable and marginalised people in Zimbabwe, those who have nowhere else to turn.

Please consider donating today.

Your generosity will not only save lives but send a message that the destitute people of Zimbabwe have not been forgotten. We see them. We hear them. We walk alongside them.

Thank you.
