Story
Somerville Heart Foundation is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to supporting young people and adults born with all forms of heart conditions, known as Congenital Heart Disease (or CHD). There are an estimated 250,000 young people and adults living in the UK who were born with a heart condition - the support provided by the charity includes Mental Health & Wellbeing counselling, informative leaflets, a quarterly newsletter, a helpline and much more.
I have formed a great relationship with the staff at the charity's Ipswich office and for lack of a better phrase, they are very close to my heart for many reasons.
I used to enjoy cycling with Colchester Rovers cycling club only stopping around 4 years ago because of ill health. So when I discovered that Somerville Heart Foundation had places in the Ride London Essex 100 Cycle ride taking place on 29 May 2022, I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to get back on my bike and help raise some funds for this excellent cause. Riding 100 miles will be challenging, however as a Criminal Defence Attorney and Army Veteran, I'm always up for a challenge.
I know Ipswich well having grown up there and I really feel that this is a great cause to get involved with by supporting a locally based national charity!
I would be incredibly grateful if you could show this amazing charity some love and donate to my fundraiser. Whatever you give will go straight into supporting young people and adults born with heart conditions.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and theirs.
