Dickson House runs Doncaster 10K

Dickson House Childrens Home is taking part in the Doncaster City 10K on November 24th in order to raise funds. All the funds raised will go towards creating a garden for the children and staff to rest, enjoy and play.

We own and manage a Nursery, School for the Deaf, Childrens Home for the Deaf, Communication Specialist College, and a Specialist Employment Service. As a registered charity, we rely on the kindness of others to support projects which enhance the experience for our children, young people and adults.

Story

Members of staff from Dickson House Childrens Home will be taking part in the Doncaster City 10k in order to raise funds for Dickson House Children's Home.

Dickson House provides residential care 38 or 52 weeks of the year for school children needing weekly or full-time accommodation while they study at Doncaster School for the Deaf. They can provide accommodation for up to nine children with sensory impairments.

The Home aims to provide each child or young person with an individually designed care programme, enabling them to develop skills and maximise their potential by getting involved in a range of activities in a stimulating, positive and safe environment.

Creating a family-based environment in Dickson House is fundamental, and allows children to grow and develop in a safe and secure environment.

This is why creating a garden that is a space that can used for rest and play is so important. Your kind donation will support the staff the create a garden that the children will use and love.
