1st Appleby Magna with Measham Scout Group is on a fundraising mission to save our hut from dereliction!  

Our beloved hut, built by volunteers over 30 years ago on land leased to us by North West Leicestershire District Council, is starting to look a bit jaded. Well…that’s the polite version! We’ve got damp, holes, cracks and creaks…not surprising considering it’s been well used since 1984!

All in all, we’re in a bit of a sorry state…especially when we have over 60 children from ages 5 to 16 stomping through our doors every week to have fun and adventure. They’re not known for being dainty, and we’ve got too much rust to be robust in the face of youthful energy and exuberance!

We need to act NOW to save our hut’s ‘character flaws’ from becoming health and safety nightmares and we need help from anyone and everyone who wants to keep our great community group growing.
