Every year thousands of women travel from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to England for abortions. These women have to pay travel costs and pay privately for their procedure, which costs anywhere from £400 to over £2000.

In both Northern Ireland (despite being part of the UK) and the Republic of Ireland, abortion is illegal. It is, however, legal for women to travel abroad for an abortion – if they have the funds.

Abortion Support Network provides financial assistance and accommodation to these women. We also provide practical information including how to arrange the least expensive abortion and travel.
