Monica* contacted us a few days after Christmas last year. She was already a mother and she was looking forward to welcoming another baby to the family. Until the 20-week scan.  

The baby was a boy – and he had catastrophic heart defects.  

"My options are to terminate this pregnancy or to give birth to a baby who will have no life at all."

Her partner had walked out on her earlier in the pregnancy – before the diagnosis – telling her she was on her own, but now he was coming over, patting her belly, and telling her she'd go to hell if she had an abortion. Monica's family are completely anti-choice, too.  

"I've never felt so alone in my life."

She only had one person – one person - in her life who wasn't calling her a murderer.   

She had practically no support. She had €200 available for a procedure that would cost nearly €2000. She was so determined to do the best thing for herself, her other children, and this baby – but it seemed all the doors were closed.  

Then she called us. 

So that's why we're asking you – this year, will you donate to help more clients like Monica? Last Christmastime, she had leave her other children, travel to England, and have the procedure that by rights she should have had at home – but she wouldn't even have had that option without ASN supporters who paid for the £1596 grant she needed.
