Story
The story about building a school in Africa came about when one of the trustees, Elena Edwards, visited The Gambia in January 2015 after reaching the finishing line in the Dakar Rally Challenge as a driver.I was invited to visit the Busumbala Village community school buy a local guide called Karamo Fatty. As soon as I saw the old school with the walls infested with termites and the darkness of the place that was it. That very second I decided that something must be done to save the children from being killed by a building that was dying.I returned to the UK mid January and the only thing I could think of was to go back, demolish the old school, and build a new one.It has been a long journey but I am very happy to let you know that the school is now built and the decoration works and the furniture are in the making. There is more to do, the children need to be fed and we still need to purchase all the education materials for the year 2015/2016. It costs £200/month to feed the children.
