Qamar attended school till Grade 10 then worked at a truck station loading and unloading heavy cargo. His family could not afford colleges o Qamar spent his days working, and nights studying. Despite securing 1st division in the intermediate exams, financial circumstances of his family forced Qamar to continue work as a daily wage laborer in the construction industry. A year later Qamar got a chance to fulfill a dream that he had almost abandoned.  Through Akhuwat’s partnership with Faisalabad Institute of Research, Science & Technology, Qamar received a scholarship and joined the first 100 students who were given another chance to fulfill their dreams.

There are thousands like Qamar in Pakistan who in spite of their talent have limited access to higher education. Building Akhuwat University, to provide equal access to quality education, is the first step to change that.
